Choose to be Creative
◊ Always ask "What if?" And then take the leap.
◊ Set aside time and space to be creative.
◊ Decide to learn something new this year.
◊ Don’t settle for the first answer, see #1.
◊ Start an inspiration/color file.
◊ Have a sense of humor; not everything works the first time.
◊ Check out a fine art book from the library.
◊ Attend quilt shows; visit art galleries and museums.
◊ Do the Opposites Exercise.
◊ Go for a walk and observe nature; the designs GOD created in nature are the best.
◊ What – are we going to a fire? Don’t be in a hurry; enjoy the process.
Eat the Color Wheel
◊ Cut up lettuce for a salad. Did you just cut up Iceberg? Add some more texture with other kinds of lettuce.
◊ Add some tomatoes. Did you add only red tomatoes? Look for yellow tomatoes at the farmers market this summer. Think of scale, use large and cherry tomatoes.
◊ Want more energy in your salad? Add some more warm accents like red, yellow and orange bell peppers.
◊ Is your green lettuce still feeling lonely? Add some purple cabbage; it is an analogous harmony to green. How about green and red grapes?
◊ Having pasta and sauce? Your eyes will love a sprinkling of basil.
